Today, I won't even begin to provide my personal spring assessment of the upcoming 2009 UVa season. I will remain high in optimism, because I know the requisite tools will be in place for success. I also recognize the variables of unpredictability in College Football. But, I stay rooted in the prinicples of College Football perhaps being one of man's greatest distractions (we all know the others ;)). The 2009 Football Season will be something special, irrespective of the so called experts and their prognostications.
The memorial day holiday weekend has arrived with a great need for personal rest. The optimism of the 2009 football season does admittedly consume me. I find this inherently healthful and almost therapeutic as a days' worth of stress this day and age across the board can weigh heavily on you. Nevertheless, as long as you are ambituous and keep your horizon fully loaded, the ride will be special. Ultimately, it is up to you personally.
Today, on my day off, I feel the pursuit of success driving me explore all avenues. I am prepared to exert all my intellectual capital and resources to make this Quest memorable. I challenge all, during these times to find a way deep down inside to make things happen. The aggregrate effect will be powerful! JW
The best player on your squad, Vic Hall, had to sit the bench as the 3rd string CB for two years before Coach Groh realized that he was a good QB in high school.
As much as I hate you guys, I wish you were better so that there would be a rivalry.
All I can say is, 2009 is a new year. We shall see. I will be there with one of my best friends who is a TECH grad, I would not have any other way, except to beat you. JW
This evening, I appeared telephonically on the 4th Quarter with Adam Gottschalk (WVAY). I want to thank Adam for the opportunity to speak about the Cavalier Quest! I stand by my optimism and welcome those in Charlottesville to join! The days to William and Mary are ticking away! Simply put, I cannot wait! Let the Quest begin!
It is the eve of training camp. The only real significance it has to me is tomorrow, I will return to work. The true warriors will embark on their intensified training to prepare for the upcoming season, whereby I as a fan will live it up and seek the ultimate thrill in watching my team achieve victory. Yes, time will tell all, but the true reality is; Football is right around the corner and that is pretty damn exciting! JW
Time after time, people accept complacency or the status quo. Whether your 1-9 against someone or whether you just keep stirring the same mixture day after day, there is always that break out moment. When that happens, that moment will be irreplaceable. JW
